The course builds on the foundation laid
in year three. It deals with the study of the determinants of the level of
growth. Topics covered include: Keynesian and classical models of employment
and output; income determination in closed and open economies. Detail theories of consumption and
investment functions. Theories of money, interest and prices;
introduction to models of economic growth. Macro-economic policies and optimal allocation of
resources,
economic policies under alternative exchange rate regimes.
